Borrower of the Night: A Vicky Bliss Murder Mystery - Elizabeth Peters Review

I have never dabbled in the murder/mystery/detective books. I usually stick to historial fiction and young adult books. But I was drawn to this series because of the covers, I know 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' but why was Nefertiti (my fave historial figure) on a mystery book?! I discovered that was the fifth or sixth book in the Vicky Bliss series.

I found the first book 'The Borrower of the Night" and began reading. It was written in the 70s or 80s, so some of the language is…

Innocent Traitor - Alison Weir Review

Innocent Traitor is Alison Weir's first novel. Alison Weir is one of my favourite historial authors, she writes history textbooks on history that are both readable and reliable (a rare combination).

Innocent Traitor is the story of Jane Gray (the "Nine Days Queen"). In the book it changes narrators a few times, which at first I found a bit confusing; but soon I understood why it was that way, it was excellent to understand each charactors motives, through the last years of Henry…

Only the Good Spy Young- Ally Carter

I read "Only the good spy young" by Ally Carter. It is the fourth book from the Gallagher Girls Series.

The main character Cammie, is at a spy school for girls. In this book she discovers that her teacher is part of another organisation set on capturing her. The secret behind her father's death is revealed and she can no longer trust anyone including her best friends and teachers. I enjoyed all the previous books in the series because they are interesting and full of…

One Whole and Perfect Day- Judith Clarke

I read One Whole and Perfect Day by Judith Clarke.

It is about a girl called Lily who feels that her family is not "normal". She is the only sensible one in her family (her brother Lonnie keeps dropping out of uni courses and her Nan has a imaginary friend) and wants to bring her family together for a day. I thought the book was interesting but quite slow. I would recommend it to girls who don't mind a slow book. I would rate it…
